Experience the untouched natural beauty of Ghizer District, one of the most scenic and remote regions of northern Pakistan. Located at the western end of the Gilgit Valley, Ghizer is renowned for its crystal-clear rivers, alpine lakes, dramatic mountain scenery, and exceptional trout fishing opportunities.

This adventure takes travelers deep into the valleys and highland lakes of Ghizer, including the spectacular Handrap Lake and Langar Lake. Fed by glacial streams and surrounded by towering peaks and lush meadows, these pristine waters are home to brown and rainbow trout, making the region a paradise for anglers and nature lovers alike.

The journey combines fishing, sightseeing, hiking, camping, photography, and cultural exploration. Travelers pass through charming mountain villages, fertile valleys, and scenic river landscapes while experiencing the warm hospitality and traditional culture of the local communities.

  • Itinerary

    Day 01 — Arrival in Gilgit → Gupis

    Arrive in Gilgit where guide will meet upon arrival at the airport. After refreshment at Serena Lodge Gilgit and purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables, drive to Gupis (4–5 hours / approx. 2200m).

    After lunch, prepare fishing gear and proceed for fishing at Khalti Lake.

    Overnight at  Gupis.


    Day 02 — Gupis → Phandar

    Early morning fishing session followed by breakfast. Drive to Phandar Valley (1–2 hours / approx. 2900m).

    Afternoon and evening fishing in the rivers and lakes of Phandar Valley.

    Overnight at  Phandar.


    Day 03 — Phandar → Handarap / Langar Lake

    After breakfast, drive to Handarap Village (30 minutes–1 hour / approx. 3150m) or Langar (2–3 hours).

    Arrange donkeys and begin trek to Handarap Lake or Langar Lake (4–5 hours / approx. 3450m).

    Camp setup beside the lake.

    Overnight in tents.


    Day 04 — Fishing at Handarap / Langar Lake

    Full day dedicated to trout fishing in the pristine alpine waters surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

    Overnight at camp.


    Day 05 — Fishing at Handarap / Langar Lake

    Another full day for fishing, photography, hiking, and relaxation in the alpine wilderness.

    Overnight at camp.


    Day 06 — Fishing at Handarap / Langar Lake

    Continue fishing activities and enjoy the peaceful environment of the remote high-altitude lakes.

    Overnight at camp.


    Day 07 — Return to Gilgit

    After morning fishing session, trek back to the road head (2–3 hours) and drive to Phandar before continuing onward to Gilgit (4–5 hours).

    Overnight at Serena Lodge Gilgit.


    Day 08 — Departure

    Transfer to Gilgit Airport for return flight.
